About the G.R.A.B. Bag Program

The G.R.A.B. Bag Program is a Business-to-Business greeting service that allows Chamber Members to connect with the newest members of the business community.

Incubator - Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce
The Intelligent Office of Reston is proud to sponsor the Incubator Program at the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce.

About the Incubator:
The Incubator is a program designed to provide business support services to early-stage, technology and government-services focused, ambitious entrepreneurs and their companies. Their mission, proven over 5 years of success, is to encourage entrepreneurship, contribute to and strengthen the business prosperity of Northern Virginia, promote economic diversity and create employment. Their primary responsibility as an Incubator will be to provide entrepreneurs tools to grow their companies through a variety of support resources and services including startup education program, business connections, professional counseling and mentoring designed to provide the critical resources needed for small businesses to grow from potential players to thriving contributors. Incubator participants have access to a Consultant Bank composed of GRCC members willing to donate time and expertise to tutor participants on business questions, review sessions with the Incubator manager to set quarterly goals and progress report follow-up meetings, and admission into all networking events, educational seminars and topical panel presentations.

The Business Alliance of George Mason University
The Business Alliance of George Mason University, formerly the "Century Club of George Mason University, Inc.®" was founded in 1988 to enhance the educational experience within George Mason University's School of Management by integrating business experience in the classroom, and to support the development of the University's Entrepreneurship Center [now known as the Mason Enterprise Center]. During the next decade, Business Alliance activities expanded to the School of Law, the School of Information Technology and Engineering and New Century College. In the spring of 1997, the Business Alliance's Board of Directors revised the mission statement to emphasize the organization's expanded role facilitating partnerships throughout the university.

What is TiE?
TiE is a global, not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs and professionals dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship. TiE provides a platform for mentoring, networking & education, to entrepreneurs & professionals. TiE is an open and inclusive organization that has rapidly grown to more than forty chapters in nine countries, with over 10,000 members.

What does TiE stand for?
TiE stands for "The Innovative Ecosystem". TiE endeavors to cultivate and nurture the ecosystems of entrepreneurship and free-market economies everywhere, as it sees this as the single most powerful instrument of prosperity.

What is TiE-DC?
TiE-DC is the Washington DC Chapter of TiE. The Washington DC Chapter of TiE is one of Washington's largest business networking organizations, dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
TiE-DC engages entrepreneurs and senior executives throughout the Mid-Atlantic region primarily through focused networking events and business conferences. We regularly host events that are open to entrepreneurs across the region, as well as exclusive events that are by invitation only.

How and when was TiE-DC started?
TiE-DC was founded by Reggie Aggarwal (CEO of Cvent) and Sanju Bansal (COO of Microstrategy) in 1997. In 2000, it agreed to merge with TiE because of their common foundation of entrepreneurship.

What is the mission and objective of TiE?
TiE's mission is to foster and advance entrepreneurship across the globe. Its principle objective is to provide a platform on which people with entrepreneurial spirit and those interested in economic value creation can come together to share ideas. TiE endeavors to cultivate and nurture the ecosystems of entrepreneurship and free-market economics everywhere, as it sees this to be the single most powerful instrument of prosperity.

The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) is the membership and trade association for the technology community in Northern Virginia and is the largest technology council in the nation.
